The reward of humility
and the fear of the LORD
Are riches, honor and life.
Proverbs 22:4
Humility
Be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5).
Fear of the Lord
The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom, And before honor comes humility (Proverbs 15:33).
In prosperity, give thanks to God with humility and fear lest by pride you abuse God's benefits and so offend him (St. Louis IX).
